Data Collection for the September 2024 SHPB

BPS Kabupaten Murung Raya conducted the 2024 Wholesale Price Survey (SHPB). SHPB is a routine monthly survey carried out by the Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS). Field data collection for SHPB takes place from the 1st to the 20th of each month. For the 2024 SHPB in Murung Raya Regency, there were eight samples located across Kelurahan Beriwit in Murung District, Murung Raya Regency.

Data collection was conducted through direct interviews by BPS Kabupaten Murung Raya staff with the respondents. The SHPB aims to obtain reliable and timely wholesale price statistics to track price developments over time for wholesale commodities. Additionally, SHPB data contributes to compiling the Wholesale Price Index (IHPB) and its monthly changes (inflation/deflation).

The IHPB is an index representing price changes at the wholesale level for traded commodities within a specific region. These commodities include domestically produced items marketed locally or for export and imported goods. The IHPB serves as a basis for government policy to maintain price stability by monitoring price trends. Data from this survey will be published in the monthly Statistical News Release (BRS) issued by the BPS Provinsi Kalimantan Tengah.
