Puruk Cahu — The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of Murung Raya Regency continues to demonstrate its commitment to building data literacy among the younger generation through the interactive and inspiring program, "Statistic Goes to School." This outreach activity was conducted at President Senior High School and Puruk Cahu Public Senior High School 1 (SMA Negeri 1).
The program aims to introduce the vital role of BPS in national development while also providing students with insights into Politeknik Statistika STIS (Polstat STIS)—a prestigious higher education institution specializing in statistics under the supervision of BPS.
During the session, the BPS Murung Raya team provided comprehensive information on the admission requirements, selection process, and campus life at Polstat STIS. Students were also given an overview of career prospects for graduates and the academic facilities that support the learning process.
Student enthusiasm was evident through the numerous questions raised about available majors, tuition fees, and real-life experiences as a Polstat STIS student. The active interaction reflected a strong interest and curiosity among students regarding educational opportunities in the field of statistics.
BPS Murung Raya expressed its appreciation to the schools for their warm welcome and strong support. The agency hopes this initiative will serve as a stepping stone for students in shaping a well-planned and data-driven educational path, especially in an era where digital transformation demands high proficiency in managing information.
Through "Statistic Goes to School," BPS Murung Raya aspires to cultivate a passion for data from an early age and to inspire more young people to contribute to national development through the power of statistics.
