Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey 2017 (SDKI 2017) is a survey to collecting data on fertility, family planning and health at both provincial and national levels. The survey was conducted by BKKBN in cooperation with BPS, Ministry of Health, Bappenas, USAID, and ICF. BPS acts as a technical executive in the field as well as the compiler of questionnaires to be used.

SDKI 2017 is the eighth SDKI in Indonesia. Last survey was conducted 5 years ago, precisely in 2012. SDKI will be held in August to October, in 11 districts / cities in Central Kalimantan. The districts are Murung Raya (1 census block), Kotawaringin Barat (3 census blocks), Kotawaringin Timur (4 census blocks), Kapuas (3 census blocks), Barito Selatan (2 census blocks), Barito Utara (2 census blocks), Lamandau (1 census block), Seruyan (2 census blocks), Katingan (1 census block), Pulang Pisau (2 census blocks), Gunung Mas (1 census block), Barito Timur (1 census block), and Palangkaraya (3 census blocks).

In Murung Raya itself there is 1 census block that is in the Muara Maruwei II, Laung Tuhup. There are 3 kinds of respondents who will be interviewed, namely WUS (Women), PK (Married Men), and RP (Youth Men). Questions from this survey are about family planning, maternal and child health, fertility, mortality, sexual behavior, reproductive health, HIV / AIDS, tobacco use, alcohol and drugs.
