Abstract

The economy of Kalimantan Tengah based on the amount of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDP) based on current prices in the first quarter of 2022 reached Rp46.1 trillion and at constant prices in 2010 reached Rp26.4 trillion.
  • The economy of Kalimantan Tengah in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the first quarter of 2021 experienced a growth of 7.32 percent (y-on-y). In terms of production, the Mining and Quarrying Business Field experienced the highest growth of 26.80 percent. From the expenditure side, the Export Component of Goods and Services experienced the highest growth of 14.76 percent.
  • The economy of Kalimantan Tengah in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the fourth quarter of 2021 experienced a contraction of 2.30 percent (q-to-q). In terms of Business Fields, the category that experienced the deepest contraction occurred in Government Administration at 42.09 percent and followed by Construction Business at 25.37 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, the Government Consumption Expenditure Component (PKP) experienced the deepest growth contraction of 37.19 percent, followed by Gross Fixed Capital Formation (PMTB) with a contraction of 10.80 percent.
  • The spatial structure of Kalimantan's economy in the first quarter of 2022 was still dominated by East Kalimantan Province at 49.97 percent. Kalimantan Tengah province is in fourth place with a contribution of 12.43 percent. On a y-on-y basis, all provinces in Kalimantan experienced positive growth, while on a q-to-q basis all experienced contraction.
