Abstract

  • The number of guests staying at star hotels dropped by 10.75 percent, from 25,030 people (April 2019) to 22,340 people (May 2019). However, those staying in non-star hotels rose 1.14 percent, from 56,869 people (April 2019) to 57,518 people (May 2019).
  • Cumulatively, the number of guests staying at star hotels rose 2.09 percent, from 113,952 people (January-May 2018) to 116,334 people (January-May 2019). In contrast, the number of non-star hotel guests fell by 11.27 percent, from 302,889 people (January-May 2018) to 268,762 people (January-May 2019).
  • Star hotel room occupancy rates fell 4.50 points, from 56.74 percent (April 2019) to 52.24 percent (May 2019). Non-star hotel RORs also fell 1.69 points, from 22.24 percent (April 2019) to 20.55 percent (May 2019).
  • Average length of stay (RLTM) of star hotels (1.60 days), longer than non-star hotel guests (1.19 days).
