BPS Central Kalimantan Accompanied Governor in Public Service Innovation Competition in Kemenpan-RB

                The Province of Central Kalimantan was selected as one of the participants of public service innovation competition 2015. This Province was chosen because it has done Innovation in Inflation Control. Even in 2014, the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) of Central Kalimantan is awarded as the best TPID in eastern Indonesia (Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Bali, Maluku, dan Papua). The award was received by the Governor of Central Kalimantan on 5th Rakornas TPID at May 21, 2014 in Jakarta.

            This success must not be separated from the role of various parties, one of them is BPS of Central Kalimantan. As a reliable vertical institution, BPS of Central Kalimantan has always been a guest speaker at every meeting that is conducted by TPID. In this case, BPS delivered regularly potrait of inflation, commodity of inflation triggers, and provide recomendations to the TPID that inflation can be controlled in Central Kalimantan. With this role, BPS of Central Kalimantan was asked to accompany the Governor of Central Kalimantan in the event presentation and interview between the Independent Panel Team and Participants of Public Service Innovation Competition 2015 that is organized by Kemenpan-RB. The event was held in the Majapahit Meeting Room 2^nd Floor Kemenpan-RB on March 31, 2015.

            The innovation’s jury of Kemenpan-RB asked the Innovator’s team of Central Kalimantan Province that consists of Central Kalimantan’s Governor, Assistant of Economy and Development of Central Kalimantan Province, Head of BPS Central Kalimantan, Head of Bank Indonesia Representative of Central Kalimantan Province to deliver presentations about innovation in controlling inflation. In one of the points of his presentation, the Governor of Central Kalimantan, said that the role of BPS in the region is very important to set the direction of local goverments. After the presentation, the jury innovation’s team asked any questions to the Head of BPS Central Kalimantan, Head of Bank Indonesia Representative of Central Kalimantan in accordance duties and his role on the TPID’s Team.

            Some things into consideration TPID of Central Kalimantan is selected as the best TPID is the real action that have been carried out by TPID of Central Kalimantan in the “escort” inflation. The real actions that have been carried out are:

1. Forming a TPID’s Team of Regency / City in Central Kalimantan, where BPS as a resource within the team.

2.  Innovation balancing market is a market that is cost less than traditional markets. This is done by means of collaboration with the Bulog’s Division of Central Kalimantan, and producers of goods, as well as big traders in the province of Central Kalimantan.

3. Establish cooperation with the private sectors and the Department of Agriculture and Livestock (Distanak) of Central Kalimantan to maintain chicken that is designed to harvest when the great days.

4.  Cooperating with BI Representatives of Central Kalimantan Province to foster and help onion’s farmers so that production can meet people needs and reduce dependence of red onions from other regions.

5. Keeping expectations of the community by providing information as possible regarding availability / adequacy of the strategic needs of society.

6. The road infrastructure has been built to penetrate the insulation between areas that affect the distribution of goods to be smooth.
